Fonseca Cigars

Fonseca Cigars Logo
This trademark was first introduced as a registered brand in the year 1907 by the Spanish businessman Francisco Fonseca, who set a factory in Havana and started producing Cuban cigars in a very original way. Before being officially registered, Francisco Fonseca used to produce his cigars in many different cigar factories from Havana. The image of their creator can still be found on the boxes, as a mark of the tradition and quality of these wonderfully rolled cigars. He came up with the idea of wrapping the tobacco in a very thin, Japanese tissue, and this is still put in practice for the Fonseca line. The cigars were then put in tin tubes, although now aluminum is more often used, meant to preserve the quality of the fine rolls.

The range continued to be produced even after the Revolution and today the brand is still very popular. Compared to other Cuban brands, Fonseca are rather mild cigars, and the prices they sell at are much more affordable than the ones practiced by rest of the brands. They are really exquisite, delicate cigars, which can be smoked in every moment of the day and with any company, be it that of an aficionado or of a novice or occasional cigar smoker. The tissue they are wrapped in give their appearance an air of uniqueness and it also makes a stand of how much the producers respect the traditional quality of the mark. Nowadays, the Fonseca line is produced by Habanos SA, Cuban state company.
