This is where the brand gets its name from, Hermanos Upmann, only they have eliminated the H in order to avoid its repetition. Although the factory existed from 1844, the brand wasn’t registered until the year 1945. The cigars from H. Upmann are very popular with aficionados who prefer them really strong. They were the first to employ a very inspired method that would allow preserving the freshness and humidity of the cigars for a longer time – the cedar box. They were also the first to introduce the aluminum tubos.

Kennedy who requested his secretary to obtain several boxes of Petit Upmanns in 1961, one night before signing the embargo against Cuba.
